Billy Anderson

Billy Anderson, age 82, devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother went to heaven on September 6, 2022. He passed with his wife and eldest daughter by his side. Bill was born June 9, 1940 in Elkmont, Alabama.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother and father, Bessie and James Anderson; sister, Christine Woodfin.

From a young age, Bill worked to serve others, as he helped to raise his five brothers and sisters. Bill married Sonjia Anderson on October 21, 1960. They were lifelong companions and friends and were blessed with two daughters, Connie Anderson Gash and Tina Anderson, along with one grandson, Chase Gash.

Bill continued to serve others and was immersed in the Christian community that would be his lifelong commitment and support. He spent his last 30 years working as an avid Realtor in which he often forfeited commissions to help others start new lives. He never wanted anything in return.

Bill and Sonjia were married 61 years (just shy of 62 years). The last few years of Bill's life, Sonjia always told him "I love you clear up to God" then paused and said "and back". The day he passed, she left of the "and back"; he slipped away to heaven to await his family and many friends to join him there.

Left to cherish Bill's memory are his loving wife, two daughters, grandson, four brothers: Gene, Donnie, Jim and Phillip Anderson and sister, Anne.

A Visitation for Billy will be held Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Rd Ne, Huntsville, Alabama 35811, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 2:00pm.
