After she married John J. Moynihan Jr. spent most of her life living and working in Woburn, MA with her family. Barbie was a devoted wife and mom, and she spent most of her free time doing for her family. There was nothing that she would not do for her family and friends. Barbie spent much of her career working in the Bradlees Department store in Woburn. After she retired from there, she enjoyed the occasional trip and loved Cape Cod, as well as dining out on a variety of food styles. While caring for her mother Idora for many years, till her passing in 1996. In her later years, she was an avid tv watcher, with the many cooking and chef shows being her favorites, except for when she was watching the Patriots with Tom Brady winning Six Super Bowls. When she wasn’t watching tv she would work on completing dozens of word puzzles each day. She passed away after enduring numerous illnesses on December 2, 2023 at the age of 92 at the Huntsville Hospital Hospice Family Care.
She is survived by her three sons: John J. Moynihan III of Harvest, AL (formerly of Woburn, MA) Kevin F. Moynihan and his wife Bonita Rita Moynihan of Tarpon Springs, FL (formerly of Woburn and Billerica, MA) and Terence J. Moynihan of Harvest, AL (formerly of Woburn and Methuen, MA). She is also survived by 6 grandchildren; Calvin, Cristian, Caden and Nyla Moynihan of Tarpon Springs and John and Daniel Moynihan of Winchester, MA She was predeceased by her husband, John J Moynihan Jr. and her sister Phyllis MacKenzie of Salem, NH
There will be a viewing and service at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Rd NE, Huntsville, AL 35811 on Wednesday Dec. 6th starting at 10am. Interment will follow at the mausoleum at the Valhalla cemetery at the same address.
