Alene was a native of Danville, Arkansas and the daughter of the late Dewey and Verna
Lampkin. She was also predeceased by her husband, Richard W. White, (Dick); son, Richard B.
White (Brad); and sisters, Lila Lampkin and Ruby Lampkin.
She is survived by her daughter, Marcia Rucker (John); daughter-in-law, Catherine White;
brother, Hoyt Lampkin; grandchildren, Daniel Forrer (Maria), Jonah White, Lauren Vocino,
Elizabeth White; step grandchildren, Sarah Robertson, Laura Dodd (Stephen), and Emily Sawyer
(Matt); eight great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Soon after moving to Huntsville in 1958, Alene and her husband Dick joined Trinity United
Methodist Church and loved seeing their church grow over the years. Alene enjoyed her many
years of teaching at Blossomwood Elementary School and seeing her former students later in
life. Alene devoted her time to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great
grandmother. She loved people, never met a stranger and always willing to help others. Until
late in life she stayed active with her Sunday School Class, bridge clubs and volunteering. Her
positive and joyful outlook on life was an inspiration to us all.
