Stephen Spicer, 68 of Marion embarked on his new adventure on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at his residence with his daughters by his side. Stephen loved fishing at the Mississinewa Reservoir and was a huge IU basketball fan. He enjoyed cooking out on his grill. He was a member of Local U.A.W. 977, and he served in the United States Army from 1962 – 1965. He served in Both Korea and Germany.
He was born on October 24, 1944 in Grant County, a son of Raymond and Christine (Stidd) Spicer.
He was united in marriage to Mary Spicer in Grant County. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include three daughters: Karen (Bill) Freeman of Lewisburg, IN; Kim (Aaron) Schultz of Jonesboro, IN; Kathy Spicer of Tucson, AZ; a son: Don Spicer of Marion; two sisters: Pam (Dennis) Caudell of Fairmont, IN Donna (Dick) Coons of Indianapolis; a brother: Chuck Spicer of Sweetser, IN; Five grandchildren: Mason Cretsinger, Luke Cretsinger, Mikey Schultz, Emma Freeman, Sophia Freeman and his beloved beagle: Daisy.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Raymond and Christine Spicer and a sister: Lynn Drook.
There will be no visitation or funeral service.
In celebration of Steve’s life, family and friends are welcome to gather on Thursday, March 21, 2013 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at K Bistro, 2201 S. Western Ave., Marion, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, his daughter’s have requested that donations be made to: Family Life Care Hospice at familylifecare.org or they can be mailed to Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
