Roger W. Pflieger

Roger W. Pflieger, 87 of Bluffton and formerly of Huntington passed away at 5:50pm on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at River Terrace Estates. Roger was a 1945 graduate of Clear Creek High School. He worked in machine set-up for Majestic Corporation for 37 years, retiring in 1986. He was a lifetime farmer in Clear Creek Township, Huntington County. He was a member of the Clear Creek Church and was a former member of the Beech Grove United Methodist Church. Roger was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

He was born on June 1, 1926 in Clear Creek Township, Huntington County, a son of Fred G. and Laura B. (Emley) Pflieger.

He was united in marriage to Martha J. Vergon on April 2, 1946 in Atwood, Indiana. She preceded him in death on August 10, 2013.

Survivors include a son: Alan E. (Colleen) Pflieger of Huntington; a daughter: Susan K. Pflieger of Annapolis, MD; three grandchildren and two great grandsons.

He was preceded in death by a grandson: Douglas Pflieger; four brothers: Waldo, Eldon, Glenn and Donald Pflieger and two sisters: Audrie Pflieger and Ina Pflieger.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 from 2:00 – 8:00pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 10:30am with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Pastor Lionel Brubaker officiating.

Interment will be at the Clear Creek Cemetery in Huntington County.
