Robert “Bob” Dean Covey 85, of Huntington, passed away peacefully at his home on December 17, 2021. Bob was a hard worker all of his life. He worked at Orton Crane Co. in Huntington for many years and later retired from States Engineering in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was a quiet and thoughtful man who was known for his work ethic and could always be called on to lend a helping hand. He was a man of many talents who worked on cars, liked to fix things, and built and remodeled houses. In 1972 Bob was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Bob was born at home in Huntington on March 4, 1936, the son of the late Fred and Sarah (Homier) Covey.
Bob is survived by his wife of 61 years Barbara (Larkey) Covey of Huntington; a son: Lonnie Covey; three daughters: Bobbie (James) Irvin, Stacie (Tom) Houghton, and Kylie Covey; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Three sisters also survive him: Helen Whittenberger, Judy Alfred, and Rita Yeager; four brothers: Jim Covey, Chuck Covey, Gary Covey, and Mike Covey.
Four brothers preceded bob in death: Leo Covey, Keith Covey, Richard Covey, and Ronald Covey; and two sisters: Carolyn Covey and Jean Ann Frain.
There will be no public services at this time.
