Ralph L. Johnson

Ralph L. Johnson, 85 of Huntington passed away on February 24, 2022 at Heritage Pointe of Huntington. Ralph was a 1954 graduate of Huntington Catholic High School. He owned and operated Johnson Petroleum and Johnson Junction, Inc. from 1971 – 1999. Ralph was very active in his community and was past president of Indiana Oil Marketers Association, past director of Petroleum Marketers Association of America. He was also past president of the Huntington Chamber of Commerce, Huntington County United Economic Development; he was a member of S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and was a member on the administrative and financial board. He was a 3rd Degree member of Knights of Columbus. He was past director of Community State Bank and past director of Bippus State Bank. Ralph was a board member of the Huntington University Foundation. He was director in the Percheron Horse Association and was a member of Chief LaFontaine Saddle Club. He was a board member on the Mt. Calvary Cemetery Association, and was a Rotarian. Ralph was an avid hunter, and enjoyed taking family hunting trips. Ralph was born on November 8, 1936 in Huntington, the son of the late J. Edward and Stella M. (Meyer) Johnson. He married Barbara L. Eckert on July 3, 1954 in Huntington. Barbara preceded him in death on September 16, 2015. Survivors include a son: Ryan (Robin) Johnson of Huntington; four daughters: Cindy (Douglas) Spice of Huntington, Polly (Jack) Dennis of Roanoke, Darlene (Brent) Stanley of Huntington, Elaine (David) Felton of Huntington; son-in-law: Arden Anson of Roanoke; 17 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters: Carla Johnson, Karen Anson and a brother: Russel Johnson. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022, from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana. Recitation of the rosary will be held at 1:30 pm. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry Street, Huntington, Indiana. Interment will be at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made out to S.S.
