Mary L. Penn

.Mary L. (Tyler) Penn, 61 of Kalamazoo, Michigan and formerly of Angola, Indiana went to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Mary was a 1971 graduate of Angola High School. She was a homemaker and was chairman for Relay for Life for many years. Mary was an active member of the Life Spring United Methodist Church that she and her husband, Jim helped to start.

Mary was born on February 18, 1953 in Kendallville, IN, a daughter of James J. and Margaret J. (Berhalter) Tyler.

She was united in marriage to James R. Penn on October 12, 1971 in Elkhart, IN, her husband survives.

Additional survivors include a son: Chad Penn of Park City, Utah; a daughter: Jamie (Jason) Holloway of Kalamazoo, MI; a grandson: Joshua Holloway of Kalamazoo, MI; a brother: David (Peggy) Tyler of Huntington, IN and a sister: Alice (Jack) Hollopeter of Oysterville, WA.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on May 31, 2014 from 1:00 pm – 3:00pm at the Life Spring Church, 1560 S. 8th Street, Kalamazoo, Michigan.

A celebration of Mary’s life service will be held at on May 31, 2014 at 3:00pm at the Life Spring Church with Pastors Patti and Everett Harpole officiating.

Memorial donations may be made out to Life Spring Church or to Relay for Life in care of Jim Penn.
