Jack L. Harris, 84 of Huntington, passed away early Friday morning, January 19, 2024 at his home. Jack was a veteran of the U.S. Navy until 1961. He worked at E-Systems Memcor for 54 years. He was a member of First Brethren Church and was an avid Cubs baseball, Colts and Notre Dame Football fan.
Jack was born on September 19, 1939 in Gary, Indiana. A son of the late Donald Harris and Emma (Burley) Harris.
He was united in marriage to Maggie Speidel on December 9, 1972 in Huntington. Maggie survives.
Additional survivors include: four daughters: Debra (Forrester) Asher of South Whitley, Deanna (Dave) Spring of Westfield, Lisa Spencer of Covington, TN, Judy Harris of California; a son: Jody Harris of Texas; a sister: Donna Scher of Huntington; two brothers: Don (Joyce) Harris of Huntington, Ron Harris of Wheattfield; five grandchildren: Justin Spring, Katelin Ezenwa, Jaclyn Stambazze, Dallas Asher, Briana Hayes and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Robert Harris, Sr.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, Indiana.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 3:00 pm following visitation at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel.
