Geraldine “Gerri” Dolby Busenburg, 76 of Huntington passed away on Friday, August 7, 2020 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Gerri had worked as a shipping and receiving clerk at Lime City Manufacturing. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She loved to collect jewelry and bird watching in her back yard. Gerri enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was born on August 7, 1944 in Somerset, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Willie and Lola Helen (Huff) Gholson.
She was united in marriage to Delbert L. Burton, Sr., Delbert preceded her in death. She later married Robert W. Dolby on July 14, 1973, Robert preceded her in death on June 21, 2002. She later married Jerry L. Busenburg on September 22, 2007, Jerry preceded her in death on January 31, 2019.
Survivors include two sons: Delbert (Deb) Burton, Jr. of Auburn; Rick (Audra) Burton of Columbus, OH; two daughters: Anita Runion of Huntington; Deanna (Eric Cole) Burton of Woodstock, GA; two brothers: Bobby (Janie) Gholson of Burnside, KY; Gale Gholson of Somerset, KY; two sisters: Edna (Roy) Simpson of Waco, KY; Ivalee (Bobby) Meece of Somerset, KY; twelve grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
Gerri was preceded in death by two brothers: Verlan and Wendell Gholson and a sister: Mary Sue Marshall.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral service following visitation at 2:00 pm. We will be following the CDC’s guidelines for Social Distancing and Social Gathering Limits.
Interment will be at the Lancaster Cemetery.
