Gerald Cranson Hallman, 78 of Lake Pleasant, passed away at 1:45 a.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Coventry Meadows in Fort Wayne. Mr. Hallman farmed during his early years, he than served as an ordained Pastor in the Church of the United Brethren in Christ. Serving churches in Toronto, North Bruce, Ontario, Shiloh in Bruce County and most recently in Montgomery, MI where he retired in 2000. He later worked at Wal-Mart in Angola as an Assembler and was Co-Owner of the Maples Cottages at Lake Pleasant. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Huntington College and then received his Masters Degree from the Huntington College Graduate School of Christian Ministry. He was an active member of the Anchor Community Church in Fort Wayne.
Gerald was born on October 6, 1933 in North Dumfries Twp., Ontario, Canada, a son of Cranson W. and Beulah B. (Becker) Hallman.
He was united in marriage to Rozanne Stucky on June 19, 1971 in Roseville, Ontario. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include 3 sons: Tim (Tara) Hallman of Fort Wayne, Jeremy (Maria) Hallman of Avilla and Michael (Jana) MacFarlane of Fort Riley, KS.; 2 sisters: Shirley Hallman of Huntington and Merle Becker of Roseville, Ontario; 2 brothers: Barry (Nancy) Hallman of Kitchener, Ontario and Glen Hallman of Thunder Bay, Ontario and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons: Matt and Ben Hallman.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 11, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at the College Park United Brethren Church, 1945 College Ave., Huntington, IN, with one hour of visitation prior to the service.
Interment will take place at the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Huntington.
Preferred memorials are to the Anchor Community Church or to the Gideon’s International both in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
