Dixie Lee Jiosa, 89 , of Markle and formerly of Huntington passed away on Saturday November 16, 2024 at Markle Health and Rehab. Dixie graduated from Markle High School in 1953. She worked most of her life as a Section Head at Grants. Dixie had attended Markle Church of the Brethren and loved to listen to the Gaithers and Statler Brothers. Her many hobbies included crocheting, puzzles, playing cards, spending time with her sisters and family, and taking family vacations all over the United States in her younger years. She always enjoyed the time she spent living with her husband in Florida during their later years.
Dixie was born on June 6, 1935 in Markle, a daughter of the late Ross and Dale (Michael) Fahl.
Dixie was united in marriage to Anthony Jiosa on June 14, 1953 in Markle. He preceded her in death on July 9, 2022.
Survivors include a daughter: Gina Simon of Huntington; three sons: Bruce Jiosa of Huntington, David (Susan) Jiosa of Savannah Georgia, and Terry Jiosa of Huntington; three sisters: Jo Ann Minniear of Huntington, Diana (Butch) Hunt of Huntington, Sherrill (Mark) Sprunger of Bluffton; a brother: Max (Judy) Fahl of Seabring Florida; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter Kerri DeMike, a brother Phillip Fahl, and a great grandson Mason Jiosa.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday November 20, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, located at 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington IN 46750.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday November 21, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel.
Interment will be at the Markle Cemetery
