He was a lifelong resident of Philadelphia, PA. William was born on April 16, 1942, to his parents, William and Elizabeth (Tobin) Meginley. He graduated from Northeast Catholic H.S. in 1960. William went on to be a City of Philadelphia Fireman for over 25 years, retiring at the rank of Lieutenant. William served with Engine 8, Engine 45, Engine 34 and Engine 20 Ladder 23. He continued to work at Advanced Telecommunications Incorporated. After he retired he spent many years cruising the Caribbean with the love of his life, Cass. Bill was an avid Philadelphia Flyers Fan and bled Orange & Black his entire life. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family at the Jersey shore for many years.
William is survived by his wife, Kathryn “Cass” (nee Keller), his children; Bill (Michelle) Meginley, Chrissy (Kevin) Stewart, Kevin (Krissy) Meginley, his grandchildren; Shane (Alyssa) Stewart, Madison (Jason) and Ella Stewart, Caitlin (Santi) and Becca Meginley, Danielle and Joey Meginley and his great-grandchildren Niko Munoz and Jax Stewart. He is also survived by his brother Charles (Sally) Meginley and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Bill’s family Monday, December 11, 2023 11:00am to 1:00pm at Lamb Funeral Home, 101 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. A celebration of life will begin at 1:00pm, followed by inurnment at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 25 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006.
