Ruth Elizabeth Farrington

Ruth E. Farrington (nee Reese), age 97, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 13, 2020, at home surrounded by her family. Born in Philadelphia, she was a longtime resident of the Somerton section of the city. Ruth was married to the love of her life, William S. Farrington, who proceeded her in death in November of 1994.

Ruth loved her family and their traditions of Sunday dinners and their Christmas cookie day. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, music, computer games, trips to the casinos and horseracing.

She was the loving mother of Ruth E. Gelgot (the late James) and the late Carol A. Newborg (survived by her husband Paul). She was the Grandmother "Mommom" of Ruth E. Lightner (Gage), Paul D. Newborg, Herb D. Newborg, Dorothy C. Crego (Mike), William J. Gelgot (Martha), and Ruth E. Filon (Chris). Ruth is also survived by 17 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

Ruth’s family and friends are invited to her viewing from 9 AM to 10 AM on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at the Lamb Funeral Home, Inc., 101 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. Her Funeral Service will be at 10 AM. Ruth’s interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery.
