He was a long-time resident of Wantage Township in Sussex County, NJ. Robert “Bob” Comeau was born on May 5, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY, to parents, Charles Comeau and Elizabeth MacArthur.
He graduated from Massapequa High School in 1956, and while in high school he also played football and was a standout on the track and field team, finishing second in the mile in New York State. He continued his education in college, graduating from the University of Mississippi with a degree in Education, and he continued his pursuit of track and field at the collegiate level. Bob went on to establish a career as a teacher, working for Alfred C MacKinnon Middle School in Wharton, NJ for over 20 years. He also taught driver’s education at Kittatinny Regional High School and Randolph High School for many years.
Bob enjoyed playing golf, and for several years he played in softball leagues and competed in Masters level track and field events. He was also an assistant coach for local youth football and soccer teams in Sussex County, NJ.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, B. Elaine Comeau, to whom he was married for over 38 years.
Mr. Comeau is survived by his son Rob Comeau and wife Eileen and their daughter Emily; his son Rick Comeau and his wife Stephanie and their daughter Bridget and son Mason; and his daughter Danielle Flounders, née Comeau and her husband Rick Flounders and their sons Ricky and Joey and daughter Clara.
A graveside service for Robert will be held Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Forest Hills Cemetery, 25 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania 19006, followed by the interment.
Robert will be laid to rest in Forest Hills Cemetery, 25 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania 19006-4104.
