Marie R. DeLuca, (nee) Pingitore, 82 of Perkasie,PA. formerly of Feasterville and New Hope, PA died Wednesday June 18, 2014 at Doylestown Hospital. She was born September 3, 1931 in Philadelphia, the daughter of Frank and Florence Emily Pingitore. She graduated from Frankford High School in 1949. She retired as a food service worker at Eastern State School and Hospital in Trevose, PA in 1991. She was a lifelong member of Bella Gente Lodge – Sons of Italy in Bensalem, PA. Known affectionately as “Momma DeLuca” she always used to say that when she was with her family, she was most happy. She and her son Frankie led the New Hope Celebrates Pride Parade every year for the past 10 years. She was a very generous and giving person to all. She was a very positive person and believed in Angels and her ample collection adorned her room. A big fan of the Lawrence Welk show, she enjoyed the American classics and country music as well. She participated in choir practice on Thursday nights at the Raven, in New Hope singing the many American Standard Songs with Russell Eiffert at the piano. Marie was a contributing author of a book titled “Embraceable You”. Her chapter was titled” My New Life in New Hope”. She was preceded in death by her husband; William J. DeLuca, Sr., married for over 54 years and by a son, Mark A. DeLuca. She is survived by her five devoted sons: William J. DeLuca Jr. of New Hope, PA; Frank R. DeLuca and his husband, Dr. Reynaldo P. Velasco of New Hope, PA; Richard R. DeLuca and his husband Gary Plevyak of Edgewater Park, NJ; John E. DeLuca of Perkasie and Jeffrey C. DeLuca and his wife, Sharon Alexander, of Perkasie. She is also survived by two loving grandchildren, Maria Lynn DeLuca and Jeffrey William DeLuca. She was the sister of Frank Pingitore Jr., Raymond Pingitore, Ernest Pingitore, and the late Angelo Pingitore. Marie was a very giving and generous person, and a loving mother and wife. She will be sorely missed by the many that knew her and those lives she touched.
