Margaret "Peggy" Steinmetz

Margaret "Peggy" Steinmetz, age 83, passed away peacefully at home on April 8th, 2025. Peggy was born on January 10th, 1942, in Philadelphia, PA, to parents Albert and Eleanor Biskup (Heaney). Peggy grew up in Kensington and attended Ascension Elementary School, and she graduated from Saint Boniface Business School in 1958.

On January 23, 1960, Peggy married the love of her life, Joe Steinmetz. Peggy was a devoted wife for 45 years and was also a wonderful mother and grandmother. Family was her greatest joy.

Upon her retirement from the Philadelphia Probation Department and Joe's retirement from the Philadelphia Police Department, they fulfilled their lifelong dream of living at the Jersey Shore. After Joe passed away, Peggy returned home to the Philadelphia area where she was able to be close with her children and grandchildren until her passing.

Peggy is survived by her children, Sandi (Bob) Steinmetz, Joe (Debra) Steinmetz, and her favorite - Peggy Childs. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Joseph, Rachel, Nicole, Grace and her cat, Jax.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Eleanor Biskup, her husband, Joe Steinmetz, and her sisters, Connie and Barbara.

A memorial visitation for Peggy will be held Tuesday, April 15, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Assumption BVM Church, 1900 Meadowbrook Road, Feasterville, Pennsylvania 19053, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 AM.
