She was an avid world traveler who loved exploring and experiencing every country that she visited. She walked the Great Wall of China, rode camels in Egypt while visiting the Great Pyramids, and was amidst the 1989 Tiananmen Square riots.
When she was not traveling, she fulfilled her time creating meticulous works of art with needlepoint, sewing clothing including creating her daughter’s wedding dress, reading morning devotions, and bird watching.
She spent her earlier years volunteering with the VFW and Rainbow for Girls. For more than 65 years, Margaret was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star. During that time, she served as Worthy Grand Matron for the state of Pennsylvania during the year 1973-1974 and was instrumental in the development of the Eastern Star Home in Warminster. She was a member of the Immanuel Leidy’s Church in Souderton. Her favorite Bible verse was Philippians 4:8 and her favorite Hymn was “Just a Closer Walk with Thee”.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood C. Finley, Jr and her son, Elwood C. Finley, III.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn D. Biros of Yardley, PA, and her grandchildren, Matthew Zaute (Sarah) of Lake Bluff, IL, Melissa Renninger (Ryan) of Pittsburgh, PA, and Daniel Biros (Melissa) of Souderton, PA. Her greatest treasures were her 3 great grandsons, Luke Zaute, Nathan Biros and Austin Biros. She also has many extended family members who remained an integral part of her life.
At Margaret’s request, the viewing will be private and the Order of the Eastern Star Neshaminy Chapter 374 will be performing the O.E.S graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Masonic Eastern Star Home East in Warminster, Shriner’s Hospital for Children or Immanuel Leidy’s Church of Souderton.
