Jack was born on May 27, 1942, in Philadelphia, PA, to parents Randall, Sr. and Josephine (Leutwyler) Everett. He was a proud native of the Burholme section of Philadelphia and spent much of his youth enjoying his time at the Jardel Recreation Center. He played soccer and was a proud member of The Danube Swabian Association.
After serving his time in the Army, Jack established his career as a barber, earning the nickname, “Jack the Clipper.” He worked at Bob’s Barber Shop in Warminster for many years before opening his own shop in Burholme, which he named Clipper’s Barber Shop. He had a loyal following and was well-known and loved throughout the neighborhood.
Jack was proud of his Irish heritage and thoroughly enjoyed the times he spent in the beautiful Irish countryside. Jack loved traveling and visited many states and countries during his lifetime. One of his favorite destinations was the Jersey shore where riding his bike on the boardwalk was his favorite activity.
Jack was a proud father to his daughter, Christine, and a devoted uncle to his nieces and nephews. Jack was generous and kind hearted and always showed up with cards and gifts for every occasion.
Jack was preceded in death by his beloved parents, nephews; Timothy Cotilla and Michael McElhinney; niece, Monica McElhinney; brother, Randall Everett; sister, Suzanne (Everett) Turner; cousin, Joanne (Eigenbauer) Johnson and her husband Robert Johnson; and brother-in-law, Brendan McElhinney.
John is survived by his sister, Elinore (Everett) McElhinney; cousin, Margaret (Eigenbauer) Moegen and her husband William Moegen; niece, Mary Jo Cotilla (Marty Burg); niece, Lori Ann (Cotilla) Brunetti (Steve Brunetti); nephew, Ed Cotilla (Lisa Cotilla); niece, Brenda McElhinney (Cameron Shahab); niece, Sheleen McElhinney (Tony DiPietro); and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Thursday, April 25th, at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road, Southampton, PA 18966, at 1:00pm. A Memorial Visitation will be from 12:30pm - 1:00pm.
