Bette had a strong work ethic. She was the Hospitality Manager for Marriott Hotel Company for 23 years. She took pride in her work, waking up in the early hours to be at work by 4:30am; she always wanted to make sure “things were taken care of”. When she took ill, she was more concerned about not being able to go to work and letting people down, than she was of her own wellbeing. She was more upset about not being able to work anymore than she was about her health.
Bette had the same work ethic at her home. She had the nicest lawn and prettiest flowers on the block and loved her home. She ALWAYS had the prettiest house on Mill Road.
Bette was fun spirited and loved to have a good time with family and friends. She and her late husband, Michael loved to entertain at their home and hosted many barbeques/pool parties every summer. She was “the life of the party” and never lost her sense of humor no matter how tough life became. She would sign all her birthday and holiday cards “guess who?”
Bette was a young widow having lost her husband Michael J. Dalton Sr. at the age of 48. She also lost her sister, Sister Patricia Black, SSJ, at the young age of 38 and her brother, Joseph T. Black.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael J. Dalton Jr and Sheryl, her daughter and son-in-law, Liz and Michael Chrobocinski, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren, as well as her beloved dog, Bella.
Family and friends are invited to Lamb Funeral Home, Huntingdon Valley, on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, for a visitation from 10am-12pm, with services beginning at 12pm. Interment will follow at Holy Sephulchre Cemetery in Philadelphia. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the S.P.C.A.
