Don was born on March 11, 1947 in Philadelphia, PA, to parents, Joseph Siravo and Pasqualena Genniro. He graduated from Northeast High School in 1964 and attended Peirce College earning an Associate Degree in Computer Programming. Don went on to establish a career as a Sales Representative for the Toy and Hobby Industry, working for Stevens International and Felix Bass for over 50 years. Given his love of flying model planes and remote-control cars, it was a perfect fit.
Don loved numerous outdoor activities and he passed them on to his greatest loves, his children and grandchildren. He was involved in Scouting from an early age and then volunteered as a Cubmaster and Scoutmaster for more than 15 years. He also volunteered as a youth soccer, basketball, baseball and softball coach for 15 years. Don was an avid scuba diver, and especially loved the reef and wall dives in Grand Cayman. He enjoyed golfing with family and friends, and appreciated great courses like PGA West in California, as well as the local John F. Byrne municipal course in northeast Philly. Throughout his life, the songs of Jimmy Buffett steered Don to his home away from home, Key West. Despite numerous trips, he always wanted to go back – and give him pizza and beer for dinner every day of the year and he’ll feel fine.
Don was preceded in death by his parents.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Kathi Siravo; his two children, Scott Siravo (Cori), and Brittany Siravo; his two grandchildren, Lucy and Joey Siravo; his sister, Patty Kouch (Jim); several nieces and nephews.
