David J. Caldwell, age 79, passed peacefully on August 6, 2018 at Jenner’s Pond Retirement Community. He was born in Philadelphia to proud parents, David Edward Caldwell and Lillie (nee Campoli). David was the devoted husband of the late Marjorie Ruth Caldwell (nee Cramer). He was predeceased by his parents and siblings, John Edward and Diane.
A 1956 graduate of Neshaminy High School, Dave proudly served in the Air Force and worked for Rumsey Electric Company for 45 years. He taught swimming classes for 30 years for the American Red Cross. His passions included going to the Jersey shore, gardening, bike riding, swimming, singing in the church choir and spending time with his family. Dave also worked as a volunteer at Menno Haven in Chambersburg, PA, teaching the elderly how to swim and providing companionship.
Dave is survived by his devoted children, Heather Lynn Russell (Scott), David Glenn Caldwell (Rachel) and Kristen Sue Caldwell. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Laura Katherine Caldwell, Abigail Margie Russell, John Edward Caldwell and his grand-dogs, Charlie and Finnegan. He will be greatly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to his calling hour beginning at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the Lamb Funeral Home, 101 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. David’s Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am followed by his burial at the Forest Hills Cemetery.
