Betty Jean, born in Morrisville, PA, was a resident of Fairless Hills for almost 60 years. A graduate of Lycoming College, she spent most of her career as a secretary at the Pennsbury School District eventually retiring after 25 years of service. In her spare time, she also successfully created and operated a family embroidery business.
Betty Jean was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and family was of greatest importance to her. She also was a fabulous cook often catering to her husband’s Slovak heritage. In her spare time, Betty Jean also enjoyed spending lazy days at the beach with family and friends.
Betty Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years; major league baseball player David F. Gerard. Also preceded in death were her parents E. Carolyn (Wamsley) Edwards and Alfred Edwards.
She was the devoted mother of David F. Jr. (wife Mary), Debbie Miller (husband Dave), and Dori Keith (husband John.) She was the loving grandmother of David J. and Daniel Gerard, Austin and Evan Miller, and Meredith and Mason Keith. And she was the loving companion to Jack A. Pepper (Uncle Jack). She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service Saturday, March 6th, 11:00 at Lamb Funeral home…101 Byberry Rd Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. Friends may call on the family from 10:30 until time of service.
