Velma Maria Martinez was known as many things to many people. She is loved as a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a great grandmother, a sister, a mother-in-law, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Velma will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
Velma was born on May 25, 1953 at Tulare County General Hospital in Tulare, California. She was the daughter of Rodolfo and Maria De Refugio Casares. Velma grew up in Donna, Texas.
Velma was raised with six siblings. She had four sisters; Melba, Thelma, Elva and Elma; and two brothers; Rodolfo , Jr. and Ricardo.
Empathic and loyal, Velma was committed to making her family happy.
Velma worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Velma was blessed with three sons; Michael, Aaron, and Adrian. Another blessing for Velma was the gift of six grandchildren; Alexandra, Ariendy, Aaryn, Michael, Jr., Xavier and Aria.
Velma enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. She loved to sew. She was content to enjoy her favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share her interests with others.
Velma passed away on July 18, 2020. She is survived by her husband, Ruben; her sons - Michael, Aaron and Adrian; grandchildren - Alexandra, Ariedny, Aaryn, Michael Jr., Xavier and Aria; great grandchildren - Emmie, Sofia and Noah Saint; her sisters - Melba, Elva, Thelma and Elma; and her brothers - Rodolfo Jr. and Ricardo.
Simply stated, Velma was a good, kind and loved person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Velma leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Velma Maria Martinez.
