I will always remember how gracious you and your family were to allow us to stay with you in 1999, in Spring, TX,  when we were moving. I was starting 10th grade and transferring to another high school. It was a really hectic time in my life. However, your generosity made things easier.  
My prayers ( and my family's prayers) are with Peter Philips, Rochelle, Tamika, Simon, Uncle Peter & Aunt Ruthie's grandchildren, and the entire family.  Aunt Ruthie was and still is dearly loved. 
Dear Aunt Ruthie, may you have everlasting peace with Jesus Christ in Heaven.

I met Ruthie and her family in St. Louis when I was assigned, by the Army, to the Record Center.   She and Peter invited me to their church, Bethel A.M.E.  I became a member and that experience was the real start of my Christian transformation.   My only regret is I never told her what an important part she played in my salvation journey.  Your soul is with Jesus now and we will  be together with Him.  Knowing that comforts me and my prayer is that it comforts the family. 

Ruthie is my Sisters-in-law that I love so much.  She had a heart of gold,  she was genuine,  always happy and funny.  I didn’t see her often but when I did she would have me laughing.  I will miss her and she will be where the Lord lives, in my heart... RIP

We are saddened by the fact that we will no longer  see the two of you walking and serving together in the AME church.  Reverend Peter Phillips, we pray that God will  give you the grace to continue without Reverend Ruth by  your side.  May God cover you with HIs peace and love.

My condolences to my brother in law Peter and family. My heart came to a stand still when I heard about the passing of my sister from another mother Ruthie and I had been friends since grade school. We graduated and went to Paul Quinn College in Waco Texas, there she meet and later married the love of her life. We still remained friends. She came to Chicago  to be our Women Day speaker she was truly a woman  of God. I will miss you my sister Rest in Heaven until we meet again. I won’t say good bye but ( later) love you Nettie 

Pastor Peter Phillips and family Rev Ruth was a loving and devoted person and cousin with a big heart who loved the Lord,Husband ,family and friends.Our friendship was reare we talked for hours at a time she was my confidante those conversations will b missed,may the Lord strengthen the family at this difficult time rest in heaven my friend and cousin I will cherish your memory Gwen Columbus Oh.

Reverend Peter Phillips and family you all have my sincere condolences Reverend Ruthie Phillips have fought a good fight she's finished her course and we will see her again in that great getting up morning she was like a sister to me from the first time we met I am very grateful that we had a chance to do a  song together a few years ago I will truly miss her but she's not suffering don't have to worry no more so for now it's farewell to my sister in Christ prayers always with the family

Sister, Thank You for the wonderful memories over the years. The children and I will miss you dearly, tell everyone in heaven with you Hello,  and give my husband Lafayette a big hug. As believers we know we will see you again, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

You will be missed dearly cuz I remember when you came to Gary Indiana for the summer when we were kids. I will always cherish those moments that was a time that I really felt I had family. I thank you for that.

I am reminded of how I admired the way Rev. Peter and Rev. Ruthie presented themselves at various meetings. I believe it was at the last Annual Conference they were together as committed as ever. 

Congratulations on obtaining your 3 scores and 10, but most of all for going to a place where the wicked shall cease from troubling and the weary shall be at rest. A place where you know you are free from all sickness, disease and COVID-19. A place where you can trade your make for a crown.
