Robert Edward Haverkamp died suddenly on February 24, 2015. He was born on July 8, 1948 in Queens, NY. He graduated from Hicksville (NY) High School in 1966. He married Linda Guenther in 1971. The couple and their family moved to Houston, Texas in 1977. He worked as a foreman for Hall Sprinkler Company for 33 years.
He is preceded in death by his father Edward, his stepfather Edward, and his brother James. He is survived by his mother, Helen, of Ridge, NY; his brother William of Ridge, NY; and his sister Patricia of Centereach, NY; his children Suzanne Mullins and her husband Brett of Pflugerville, TX; his daughter Janet Rivera and her husband Joe of Houston, TX; his son Paul of Spring, TX; his grandchildren Daniel Rivera; Celeste Haverkamp; Amanda Mullins and another grandchild on the way.
Robert was a patient, hardworking man who was devoted to his family. He was described by many as a true gentleman. He enjoyed gardening and working outside. He was a fan of Notre Dame and the University of Texas football teams. He had a phenomenal work ethic which was installed in his children. He often had a jovial quip to answer a situation. He took joy in the simple things in life such as winning yard of the month and peanut butter sandwiches. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
