He was born on March 9, 1951 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Charles and Elizabeth (McCoy) Williamson. He has five siblings; Dennis Williamson, John Williamson, Elizabeth Pierce, Charles Williamson and Sandra Dastolfo.
Richard graduated from Millville Sr. High then enlisted in the United States Navy, where served his entire career until he retired after 21 years. He received numerous awards, citations, and accommodations. He was a proud United States Navy Veteran. He loved Football, Basketball, College Basketball, and Baseball, but what he loved most was Golf. He loved working at the golf course and watching his grandchildren play softball and baseball. He was also quite the partier and always enjoyed being with his friends. He was a practicing Catholic and former VFW Commander. He had a good sense of humor, and loved telling his stories.
Richard is preceded in rest by his parents Charles and Elizabeth Williamson, his brothers John and Charles Williamson and his dog Astro. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle (Williamson) Miller and husband Mark, his son Chris Williamson and wife Angela; his grandchildren, Alyssa and Jordan Miller and Kendall and Savana Williamson; his siblings, Dennis Williamson, Elizabeth Pierce, and Sandra Dastolfo; and his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved boxer, Windsor.
Services will be held on July 17, 2019 at Calvary Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, with the services starting at 10:00 am and Military Honors beginning at 12:00 pm. The services will be officiated by Deacon Ray Oden, followed by the reception being held at the Track Shack.
And with all of this being said the phrase that will always ring true when we remember Richard Williamson is “Whoop”!
