Richard enjoyed many things in life, hunting, fishing, woodworking, but most of all he loved his family. Richard developed his love for the outdoors while growing up on remote oil lease properties in West Texas. Richard graduated from East Texas State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He designed and manufactured oil drilling equipment and held several patents in this field. Richard was an artist, a craftsman, an inventor and an accomplished gunsmith, he loved to talk to anyone and he never met a stranger.
Richard was preceded in rest by his parents, Robert Isaac and Lessie Lee Greer; and his sister Bobby Jean Kizer.
He is survived by his wife Betty Claudine Greer; his children, Michele Lynn and her husband Steve Johnson and Robert Greer and his fiancée Wilavan Witurangkool; his grandchildren, Rebecca Alyssa Tobias, April Renee Rojano, James Lee Butler, Joshua Tucker Greer, Rachael Ann Williamson, Jacob Wayne Williamson, and Caleb Robert Greer; his great-grandchildren, Benjamin Owen Tobias, Violet Isabelle Tobias, Lennan Alisse Butler and Luca Santiago Rojano; and his sister Monzelle Bailey. Richard also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, family and friends to treasure his memory forever.
Memorial Services will begin at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 28th, 2017 at Calvary Hill Funeral Home with a Repast to follow at Calvary Hill.
