He was born in Tehran, Iran on April 8, 1943 to parents Shokrollah Masrour and Habibeh Asreshoghi Masrour.
Riaz graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering.
He married Nazli Masrour on October 17, 1981.
Riaz was a member of Houston Baha'i community and had a passion for books, translation of Baha'i texts and the Dallas Cowboys.
He is survived by his wife Nazli Masrour; children Nader Masrour and Shapour Masrour; grandchildren Matthias, Leili, Liam, Maya and Amara and siblings Barazandeh, Forouzandeh and Farjam.
A funeral service for Riaz will be held Sunday, September 29, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Calvary Hill Funeral Home, 21723 Aldine Westfield Road, Humble, Texas 77338. A committal service will occur Sunday, September 29, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 21723 Aldine Westfield Road, Humble, Texas 77338. A catered reception will occur Sunday, September 29, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM, 21723 Aldine Westfield Road, Texas 77338.
