He was the oldest of two children born to John Peter O'Rourke (deceased) and Grace Marie O'Rourke (deceased) in Salina Kansas on October 10, 1943. He met the love of his life Katherine Maureen Vincent while attending high school in 1961 and they married on August 2, 1964 at St. Katherine's Catholic Church in Pear Ridge, Texas. He graduated from Lamar Tech in 1964 with a diploma in electrical repair . He started his first job shortly after graduation with Hughes Tool Company which is now known as Baker Hughes Incorporated and recently celebrated 50 years of continuous service with the company among other awards over the years.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Katherine O'Rourke of Spring, Texas; his daughter Faleen Hunter of Brenham, Texas; granddaughter, Darian Hunter of Plantersville, Texas; his sister, Louise Popielarczyk and her husband Don Popielarczyk of Beaumont, Texas; and many more family and friends. His son, John Ovey O'Rourke predeceased him in 1997.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Calvary Hill Funeral Home 21723 Aldine Westfield Rd. Humble, TX 77338 at 2:00 p.m. and a reception will follow on the premises after the memorial service. The family invites all to come for food and fellowship.
