Patricia Jane Share

Patricia J. Share, 71, of Spring, Texas passed away suddenly on Friday August 14, 2020 after an 18-month battle with cancer. Patricia was born on October 8, 1948 in Utica, New York, a daughter of the late Edward McCoy and Norma (Daly) McCoy. Patricia grew up in a large family of 4 sisters and 1 brother, and enjoyed spending her childhood summers at Piseco Lake with her family, grandparents, and cousins.

Patricia attended college at the University of New York at Oswego, earning her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and fulfilling her childhood dream of becoming a teacher. She taught 1st grade for 34 years in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston and most of her career was spent at Saint Edward Catholic School. She also taught one year in public school.

Patricia devoted her life to her family. She was a loving wife, the mother of two daughters, and an amazing grandmother to a 12-year old grandson and a 10-year old granddaughter. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her family. She especially loved watching her grandchildren grow up to be amazing people. Her proudest moments were the birth of her daughters, the graduation of both her daughters from college, and the birth of her grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading, swimming, and riding her bike.

Patricia is survived by her husband of 50 years, Michael Share; a daughter, Paula Gilvarry of Tomball, TX; a daughter, Brenda Stephenson (Brant) of Austin, TX; two grandchildren, Noah Gilvarry of Tomball, TX, Bailey Stephenson of Austin, TX; a sister, Linda (George) Nettleton of East Genoa, NY; a brother, Brian (Diana) McCoy of Ormond Beach, FL; as well as nieces and nephews. Patricia was preceded in death by her sisters Nancy A. McCoy in 1973, Susanne C. Novak in 1995, and Maureen E. McCoy in 2017.

A service will be held at Saint Edward Catholic Church in Spring, Texas on September 1st at 10:30 AM. Arrangements are with Calvary Hill Funeral Home in Humble, TX.
