On January 2, 1967, this day announced the birth of a strikingly extraordinary man, son of the late Marvin Gene and Linda Kay (Ballard) Bishop. Mike grew up in Chickasha, OK. From a young age he loved being around animals so much that his family had a pet squirrel, pigs and a crow. Mike would tell the story about his pet crow. When his mom would call his name out loud, MICHAEL and then the crow would start mimicking his mom by yelling out his name as well. During his years at Rush Springs High School, Mike became part of the football team which he loved to play.
Mike became an avid outdoorsman, who loved to hunt, fish and to collect guns. He enjoyed quality time with his friends and family. Mike taught them to love nature and to just be thankful.
He married his main squeeze Lydia (Ramirez) Bishop, 26 years ago, with whom they had Felisia. They move from Dallas, TX to Spring, TX. They looked and found a church that embraced them and made them feel right at home. Champion Life Center allowed him to use his talent for the Lord. He enjoyed building signs and any props for VBS, the women's conference, Christmas events and any event that the church had going on. He was known by the children at the church as Mr. Mike. He never failed to shake the hand of a child and make them feel special.
While Mike will be dearly missed by all who knew him, he would want everyone to know that he was more than prepared and eager to meet his Lord and Savior. Mike is surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
He is survived by his wife, Lydia (Ramirez) Bishop; daughters, Jessie Rene Bishop and Felisia Kay Bishop; siblings, Mark Lynn Bishop, Jeanne Kay (Bishop) Large, Monty Dwayne Bishop and Marty Lee Bishop; nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts, a host of loving in-laws and friends.
