Merlito "Tolits" T. Cabio, loving husband and father of three, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 in Houston, Texas at the age of 68. Lito was born July 31, 1953 in Makati, Metro Manila, Philippines.
Lito pursued and received an architecture degree at Far Eastern University in the Philippines. He married Evelyn in 1984 while home from a work trip from Zamil Steel in Saudi Arabia. They endured a long distance relationship for 14 years, even raising two children in these conditions for six years. In 1992, Lito was permanently united with his family when they joined him in Saudi Arabia.
In 1995, the Cabio family moved across the ocean to Houston, Texas where Lito dedicated his time in building the Rigid community. Lito and Evelyn gave birth to another daughter in 1996.
Lito was not only a family oriented man; he devoted his life and resources to extended family and the Filipino community. Anyone who has had the privilege of being in relation with him is guaranteed to have an anecdote or two about his humor, kindness, and generosity.
Lito was a force of nature and enjoyed a multitude of hobbies such as playing tennis, going on long walks with his wife, and singing karaoke at the top of his lungs.
Lito's wake will be on Friday, August 5th, 2022. Calvary Hill Funeral Home. 21723 Aldine Westfield Rd. Humble, TX 77338. 2 pm to 8 pm.
Lito's funeral mass and burial will be on Saturday, August 6th, 2022. St. Ignatius Loyola Church. 7810 Cypresswood Dr., Spring, TX 77379. Mass starts at 11 am and funeral procession will lead to Calvary funeral home where he will be buried at 1 pm.
