Matthew Daniel McCormick, age 32, of Houston, Texas entered into rest on Sunday, May 9, 2021. Matthew was born in Houston, Texas on November 10, 1988 to parents Sharon Dian Hailey and Terry Dan McCormick. He went on to attend Nimitz High School and graduated from Lone Star College North Harris, where he earned the Rising Star award.
Matthew had a career with CBG Landscaping in Houston, and ever since his childhood he loved the outdoors. He was a member of the Geology Club and enjoyed going fishing. Matthew was also a member of his school's baseball team until Junior College. He taught himself to play guitar and prided himself in being an amateur chef.
Matthew is survived by his parents, Sharon and Terry McCormick; grandmother, Alva N Atherton; siblings, Stephen Dan McCormick, Stephanie Lynn McCormick, Sally Denise Cogburn, James Gilbert Cogburn; friends, Matthew Kovar, Kyle Smart, Phillip Le, Clinton Mear, Monica Ray, Marcus Ramirez; pets, Oso, Buddy, and Reba. He was preceded in passing by his pet Roo (Big Dog).
A memorial service for Matthew will be held Sunday, May 23, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Calvary Hill Funeral Home, 21723 Aldine-Westfield Road, Humble, TX 77338. A reception will occur Sunday, May 23, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 21723 Aldine-Westfield Road, Humble, TX 77338. A cremation will occur.
