Mary Ellen Sanchez

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved Mary Ellen Sanchez, who peacefully left us, surrounded by her immediate family, on March 7, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on November 4, 1943, in Houston, Texas, to Destredereo and Luisa Garza. Mary’s life was a testament to her love, faith, and dedication.

As a devoted daughter, wife, mom, grandma (Nana), and great-grandma, Mary’s world revolved around her family. She poured her heart and soul into her role as a homemaker, always putting others before herself with unwavering selflessness and love. With a heart full of compassion, she was always eager to seize any opportunity to lend a helping hand to those around her, no matter how big or small the task. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she found joy in making a positive difference in the lives of others. Her gentle presence, comforting spirit, and warm smile brightened the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her love was felt in every hug, every word, and every action.

Her faith as a Jehovah’s Witness was the foundation of her life. She lived each day faithful to Jehovah with a deep commitment to her beliefs, which she shared with others. Her devotion to Jehovah helped her to be a good example to others and will hopefully continue to inspire those who carry her memory in their hearts.

Mary leaves behind a family who adored her: husband, Preston Y. Sanchez Jr.; two daughters, Roxane (Randy) Goodman and Anjanette Sanchez; four grandchildren, Kayla Aguirre, Angelica (Ozzy)Jankwitz , Jose-Omar Bustos, and Ashley Bustos; and great-granddaughter, Ava Jankwitz. She was the glue that held the family together, and her absence leaves an irreplaceable void in their hearts.

Mary’s love was a gift that extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Though we mourn her loss, we take comfort in her paradise hope and knowing her memory will forever be cherished by her family and all whose lives she brightened.
