Kennith was born on January 16, 1937 in Como, Texas to Truitt Johnson Attaway and Lila V. Laird Attaway. He was raised on a ranch near Abilene and graduated from Winters High School and attended Durham’s Business School in Abilene. As a young man, he followed the rodeo circuit raising rodeo stock and riding saddle bronc horses. After serving in the US Army in Germany and Korea, he received an honorable discharge in 1966. After his discharge from the Army, he moved to Houston where he worked 30 years for H.A. Lott Construction as a commercial carpenter and construction superintendent. He was a member of the Carpenters Local Union No. 551.
Kennith enjoyed watching football, Westerns and breakfast with his buddies. He loved road trips and going to Gaither Concets. His greatest treasure and joy were his children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
Kennith met and married Alice Faye Clark and they enjoyed 57 years together.
Kennith is preceded in death by his parents, Truitt Johnson Attaway and Lila V. Attaway, and Sister Dorris Dry, and three nephews, David, James and Jeffery Dry. He is survived by his wife Alice Attaway, son Kelly and wife Cassandra of Spring; daughter Tracy Smith and husband Donald of Spring; five grandchildren ;Laura Attaway, Kyle Attaway, Alyssa Attaway, Carli Smith Hodge, and Skyler Smith; six great-grandsons, Ashton Attaway, Bentley Attaway, Waylon Vaughn, Liam Garabis, Noah Garabis, and Nolan Vaughn, all of Spring ; and a great granddaughter on the way, Ellie Vasquez; sister, Ann Almack of Abilene and niece and nephew Debra and Dana Cunningham.
We are all deeply saddened by his passing out of this life, but we are rejoicing at his entrance into his eternal life with Jesus Christ our Lord.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to National Kidney or Diabetes Foundation.
A visitation for Kennith will be held Friday, May 12, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a committal service from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM.
