During Johnny’s life tenure he received voluminous awards and accolades further demonstrating his truest character and dedication to every agency, affiliation, and organization he joined and served.
John was a well-seasoned, mature source of wisdom often acting as a father figure to youth, young officers, recruits, and anyone seeking his assistance in the community. Always volunteering his personal time, Johnny willingly helped at infinite charitable fundraisers and events, with his loving wife Tina alongside of him.
Even after retirement, Johnny still continued to serve as a Reserve Deputy assigned to the training division where he thoroughly enjoyed teaching and sharing his life experiences. His fellow officers and supervisors miss the good food John always brought when Tina cooked her infamous frijoles a la charro and capirotada!
Throughout his life, Johnny’s involvement within the Knights of Columbus remained a constant as this group exemplified his ideals and beliefs!
Born son of John & Lupe, Johnny had five siblings, Manny, Gerry, Bea, Rebecca, and Alfredo. He is survived by his beautiful spouse Tina, his son John, III, Becky, and his lovely granddaughters Leah and Annabelle. He joins his eldest son, Rudy, now in rest.
Johnny’s funeral services, mass and burial are as follows:
The viewing commences at 5:00 pm on September 11 at Calvary Hill Funeral and Cemetery in Humble, Texas, with Johnny’s Rosary led by Deacon Ray Oden promptly at 6:00 pm. Immediately following will be the Presentation by the Knights of Columbus Council 6557. Visitation ends at 9:00 pm.
Mass in commemoration of Johnny will be held at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church in Spring, TX 77373 at 12:00 pm with Father Charles Samperi presiding . Johnny’s Burial takes place at the National Veterans Cemetery located on Veterans Memorial Drive in Houston, Texas at 2:15 pm.
