John began his banking career at Bank of Cypress Trails in 1983, which is now known as Prosperity Bank. He manages three locations. His title is President of the Woodcreek Banking Center, President of the Aldine Banking Center and President of the Cleveland Banking Center. He served on the board as the Treasurer for East Aldine Management District since 2011. He was a member of the Aldine Noon Optimist Club since 2008. He was also a member of the Cleveland Chamber of Commerce and The Greater East Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce for the past two years.
John worshiped at the chapel in The Woodlands Church. His passion was his family, his work, his gardens, and he even built two of his own homes. He is fondly known as “Pop” by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Charlotte Wilkes Meinke. His children: Anne St. Cyr, Hank Meinke, Carla Meinke Broadway, and Rachel Meinke, all of Conroe, Texas. His 6 grandchildren: Brandon McDougal, Ashley Herrera, Jordan Broadway, Paige and Taylor Meinke, and Jackson Grimes. One great grandchild: Rain Herrera. John also has a grandbaby and great-grandbaby due in June. Siblings: Martha (Jim) Stephenson, Mark (Ruth) Meinke of Kansas, and sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Meinke of California and Resa Picolet of South Carolina. He also has numerous nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents, Albert and Marion Meinke and his brothers, David and Daniel Meinke, and brother-in-law, Ralph Picolet.
