Erica Maria Stutz Little passed from this life into the welcoming arms of her loving Savior after a brief illness on Saturday, December 6 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in Houston. Her daughter, Stephanie, her son Stephen, and her close friend Peggy Benge were at her side. Born in 1939 in Pittsburgh to German immigrants, Nicholas and Katherina Stutz, Erica graduated from Bethel Park High School. After attending secretarial college, she went to work in the Department of the Navy at the Pentagon. She married, had three children, and the family settled in Atlanta. Erica moved to Houston in 1981. Here, she found a new kind of success, thriving as an entrepreneur and businesswoman as she grew American Maid from a startup to a successful ongoing enterprise. In her later years, Erica embraced her Christian faith in a deeper way. While she kept close ties to her Catholic roots, she became an active member of Lakewood Church and found great joy in singing in the choir and praying for others as a part of the intercession team. She is preceded in death by her parents and her older brother, Erich Stutz. Left to cherish her memory, are her daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Kevin Glandon of Birmingham, Ala., her grandchildren Loveday, John, and Cole Glandon; her son Scott Little and her granddaughter Shannon Little of Creedmoor, N.C.; her son and daughter-in-law Stephen and Cheryl Little of Chesapeake, Va.; and many loving and dedicated friends in Texas.
A memorial service will be held at Lakewood Church on Wednesday, Dec. 10 at 2pm.
