Colby was a vibrant and joyful individual from the very beginning. As a baby, he always had a smile on his face, and that infectious happiness stayed with him throughout his life. Colby was known as the life of the party, bringing laughter and joy wherever he went. His wit and humor were legendary, and he loved to poke fun at his nieces, always telling them they were his favorite. Cooking was one of Colby's passions, and his family lovingly called him "Chef" because of his culinary skills. He took charge of planning the menu for holidays and celebrations, ensuring that everyone had a delicious meal to enjoy.
In addition to his love for cooking, Colby had a deep appreciation for video games and had consoles in almost every room of his house. He also enjoyed going out to eat, watching sports, and going to the movies. Colby had a special bond with his parents and would call his mother every day on his way home from work. Sundays were reserved for spending quality time at home, cheering on his favorite sports teams.
Colby was a hard worker and took pride in his accomplishments. He dedicated eleven years of his career to the restaurant industry, starting as a waiter and eventually becoming a General Manager for Macaroni Grill, Johnny Carino's, and Saltgrass. He traveled to different states, opening and training at new store locations. In 2014, Colby transitioned into the mortgage industry, which allowed him to have weekends and evenings off.
Colby's faith was an essential part of his life. He was baptized at St. Peter Claver and received confirmation at St. Matthew's church. His strong belief brought him comfort and strength throughout his journey.
Colby leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory. He is survived by his father Leonard Lazare, mother Elgia Lazare, sister Ayanna Williams (brother-in-law David Williams Jr), sister Roshanda Lazare, nieces Destiny Duhe, Jordan McLemore, Asia Duhe, and a host of aunts, uncles, godparents, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Harvey Calhoun Sr, grandmother Ruby Lee Calhoun, grandmother Lovenia Lazare, and a host of aunts and uncles.
