Charlotte Ford

Charlotte Gilbert Ford, age 81 fondly referred to as “Momma Ford” was born on September 8, 1941, in Cleveland, Ohio to the proud parents of Arthur Lee Gilbert and Blanche Burns. She was the first born of four children (Duane, Leticia, and Vincent). She is preceded in death by all her immediate family. She married George Franklin Ford on April 30,1961 and from their union, two daughters were born, RuthAnn Ford (Lowery) and Deneen Marie Ford. She is survived by children and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

During her marriage, Charlotte travelled the world and lived internationally for many years. Upon her return to the United States, her and the family settled in Atlantic City, New Jersey. She began a career in Banking that spanned over 30 years from Germany, New York City to Houston, Texas. She retired from Chase Bank in 2006. Prior to retirement, Charlotte expressed her joy of cooking by opening her own restaurant, Charlotte Ribs and Thangs in Huntsville, Texas from 1994 – 2000. It was showcased twice in The Texas Monthly Magazine, as an Outstanding Barbeque Eatery in the State of Texas. Her passion for Art, since childhood expanded to her attending Art classes, where she won several First-place awards in competitions. She was an active Bowler with the Mount Zion Angels of Humble, Texas. In 2017, she was honored as a Living Legend by The Blue Triangle of Third Ward.

A visitation for Charlotte will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Calvary Hill Funeral Home and Cem, 21723 Aldine-Westfield Road, Humble, TX 77338, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
