It is with great sadness (because we will miss him), but also with the joy of him going home to be with his wife and Heavenly Father and family in heaven, the passing of William (Ed) Schoonover Sr. He was a wonderful man, husband of 70 years, and a loving father. He will be greatly missed by his entire family and friends.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Evelyn Schoonover. He is survived by his daughter, Darlet De Lisle (Ed); and sons Gary Schoonover, David Schoonover (Catherine) and William (Ed) Schoonover (Sheri); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also, an incredibly special man in both Ed and Evelyn’s life, who they considered to be a son, Jonathan San Roman.
Ed was a kind man with strong convictions. He was an old soul and enjoyed fishing, hunting, painting, and woodworking. Most of all, he enjoyed leather work. He was a master craftsman when it came to leather work and had at least 65 years of experience. If you knew Ed, then you probably had a purse, belt or wallet made by him.
Ed went home to be with the Lord. He constantly talked about how much he missed his wife Evelyn and wanted to be with her again, so with much sadness for us, but happiness for him, we will miss him until the day we are reunited.
