Victoria Emilia Lopez (nee Monzon) was born on March 23, 1950, in Guatemala City, Guatemala, to Emilia Reyes Andon de Monzon and Jose de la Cruz Monzon. She was the second oldest of 3 sisters and 5 brothers. Victoria married Daniel Lopez, and together they had three children: Cesar (born October 6, 1971), Karen (born December 10, 1973), and Claudia (born July 2, 1975). Over the years, Victoria welcomed two grandsons and seven granddaughters, as well as three great-grandsons and four great-granddaughters into her loving family.
In 1976, Victoria immigrated to Los Angeles, United States, where they eventually settled in San Jose. Despite the challenges of adjusting to a new country, Victoria was determined to succeed. She attended night classes to learn English and eventually became a United States citizen.
Victoria and Daniel were not just partners in marriage; they were inseparable companions who did everything together. Their bond was evident in every aspect of their lives—they worked together, prayed together, and faced every challenge hand in hand. Victoria cherished being in Daniel's presence and loved him deeply. Their remarkable partnership lasted for 54 years, a testament to their enduring love and commitment. Victoria and Daniel built a successful business cleaning houses, which endured for over 40 years. This endeavor not only provided for their family but also allowed them to purchase homes and sustain their livelihood.
On August 18, 1989, Victoria embraced the role of grandmother, a title she cherished deeply. Despite facing adversity, Victoria remained resilient. She was diagnosed with breast cancer over the years but bravely fought and became a survivor three times. Her unwavering faith in God was her source of strength. She became known as a prayer warrior, waking up at 5 AM every day to pray with her brothers and sisters in Christ and for her loved ones. Victoria's determination and faith carried her through every challenge she faced. Even in the midst of battling cancer, she continued to work hard and remained a fighter. After owning a successful cleaning business for over 40 years, they semi-retired in Modesto. As Victoria approached the end of her life, she and Daniel cherished their hard-earned full-retirement in Riverbank, with the support of her daughter Karen and her husband.
Victoria Emilia Lopez's legacy is one of resilience, faith, and love. She touched the lives of many with her strength and kindness, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her. Above all, Victoria was known as a woman of God and a woman of prayer, whose unwavering faith guided her through every trial and triumph. As she faced the end of her life, Victoria felt satisfied, knowing that she had lived a life of purpose and faith.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Daniel, and cherished children, Karen and Claudia. Her son Cesar welcomed her with open arms into the afterlife. She will be deeply missed by her beloved son-in-laws, Michael and Adalberto, grandsons, Victor and Daniel, granddaughters, Krystyna, Mary, Doreen, Alyssa, Mariah, Delilah, and Mika, grandchildren by marriage, Jon, Christopher, Manuel, Carlos, Lupe, and great-grandchildren, Jordan, Mila, Sophia, Logan, Mallory, Catalina, and Zion. Though she may be gone, the impact of her presence will be felt forever in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
A visitation for Victoria will be held Thursday, June 6, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Lakewood Funeral Home, 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA 95326. A funeral service will occur Friday, June 7, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA 95326. A committal will occur Friday, June 7, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Modesto Citizens Cemetery, 1001 Scenic Dr, Modesto, CA 95350. A reception will occur at Oasis Christian Center, 200 El Paso Ave, Modesto, California 95351.
