Verna Majorie Lageson

Verna was born July 21, 1927 in Moorhead, Minnesota. She passed away on January 2, 2016 at 88 years old. Verna and Delmar moved to Modesto, CA in 1947, where they raised a loving family and made numerous friends. She worked as a retail merchandising manager at JC Penny Corporation for over 25 years, retiring in 1995. Verna was very respected by her associates and took great pride in her work with JC Penny Corporation. Verna enjoyed golfing, fashion, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She had a great deal of love and compassion for all animals.

Verna is preceded in death by her husband Delmar Lageson, son Daniel Lageson and sisters Helen and Shirley. She is survived by her daughter Lynn Lageson of Modesto, CA, granddaughters Danielle (Garrett) Thompson of Riverbank, CA, Amber (Amador) Martinez of Ceres, CA, five great grandchildren and her loyal dog Pi.

Verna was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Donations can be made in Verna's name to SPCA of Stanislaus County, 4733 Yosemite Blvd, Modesto, CA 95367.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 10:00 am in the Riverside Chapel at Lakewood Funeral Home, 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA 95326.
