Stella ‘Louise’ Singleton, 77, of Hughson, Ca, passed away suddenly on February 8, 2022. She was born on March 20, 1944 to Burl and Martha Beck in Richmond, Ca. She was the tenth borne of twelve children. Louise attended high school in San Jose. She enjoyed working as a bartender, and later began a career at Fairchild Semiconductor.
In 1964, Louise met and married Jim Singleton in Fremont, Ca. Louise loved to sing and participated in dance contests and won many!! During her life, Louise successfully battled cancer twice, enjoyed camping, shopping, and spending time with her large extended family. Jim and Louise blended their family and later went on to open their hearts and home to hundreds of foster children, many who remain in their lives.
Louise is predeceased by her 11 brothers and sisters, two children Vicki Harris and Jim Singleton Jr. and two grandchildren, Rachel Walker and Alexandra Jurevich. Louise leaves behind her husband, Jim of 58 years, and children, Tami Anderson, Debbie Wheeler, Gayla Jurevich (Steve), Larry Ramirez (Sarah), Tasha Lyons (Mike), Shane Keysor (Kaytea), Toby Hager, and Tina Pulanco (Phillip), and 19 grandchildren along with 6 great-grandchildren. In addition, countless "extra" children that were always treated like her own.
Louise had a gift of making everyone feel like family, she will be desperately missed by all those that she’s left behind. Our hearts are so broken by this unexpected loss. She was one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed.
Visitation for Louise will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Lakewood Funeral Home, 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA 95326. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, March 1, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA 95326. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, March 1, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Lakewood Memorial Park
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, both organizations Louise felt strongly about.
