Richard Taggart, 86, of Modesto, CA, entered into rest with God, after a short illness. In 1928 Richard was born to Arnie and Charlottie Taggart; he grew up in San Francisco, CA and went to school at Lincoln High School. In 1947 he joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Alaska. After being discharged, Richard went to sea as a Merchant Seaman, traveling to Japan and other ports. He later lived in northern CA; married and had a son, Gary and a daughter, Mindy; Mindy lived only a few days.
Richard worked near Klamath Falls, CA in the woods where he was a logger. In the mid 1960's he joined the staff at Peninsula Hospital in Burlingame, CA. There he met the love of his life, Ruth. They married and she has been his loving wife through the years. In 1985 they retired and moved to Modesto, where they have had a quiet and peaceful life together.
A Memorial Service will be held to honor Richard's life at Lakewood Funeral Home, in the Riverside Chapel, on Wednesday, Aug. 13th at 10:00am.
