Peter was born in Swindon-Wiltshire, England on March 16, 1956. He initially trained as a psychiatric nurse and then a general nurse in England. He worked in the special needs children’s unit and completed specialist training in children’s heart care at the pediatric ICU at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London. He came to America in 1988 and worked at Doctors Medical Center in the NICU until his health challenges a few years ago.
Peter has always loved motorcycles since he was a young man and had toured extensively throughout Europe on his various motorbikes. He previously took part in motorcycle rallies but stopped riding shortly after his first child, Hannah, was born. He loves planning BIG trips for his girls and has taken his family for some truly memorable adventures throughout the world. He wanted the girls to experience and understand various cultures and strongly believed holidays were not a luxury but a necessity. He is the trip planner extraordinaire!
Peter is a huge history buff, and we are still constantly impressed by the wealth of information in that “thick noggin’” of his. Anything about WWI, WWII, the American Civil War, and global politics, he is a walking encyclopedia. He has a strong moral compass and innate sense of right and wrong. Peter says what he means and means what he says.
Peter enjoys good food, especially cheese, cognac, and port. He has a wicked sense of humor and loves to tell irreverent jokes. While kind natured and jovial, he has quite the acerbic wit. He is fiercely loyal and protective of his family, especially his girls and would do anything for them. He is what he called himself “soft as shit” and is a gentle giant. He is survived by his brother Stephen, his wife Mei, and his three daughters Hannah, Joan, and Paula. He is loved and missed deeply.
