Norman Joseph Filip

Norman Joseph Filip Mar 18, 1942 - Apr 28, 2017 Norman was born in Oakland CA to Joseph and Elbertha Filip. The family moved to a small farm in Oakdale. After college Norman taught in the Oakdale school district at Lee and Magnolia schools. Several years later taught computer science at Junior High level. Norman, married Betty in June of 1964. Norman, is survived by his wife Betty of Oakdale and Sister Pat Woodward (Tad) nephew Andy and niece Melissa and several nephews and nieces. Norman enjoyed welding and made his own mining equipment. He enjoyed gold miming with his father in Jamestown. Years later had partners to help with other mines in Mariposa County. Norman partnered with his father Joseph with mines in Tuolumne County. Hobbies included gold mining, fishing, hunting, camping trap shooting. He managed the Oakdale Sportsmen Club Trap Shooting several years. Norman, will be missed by his family and all who knew him. Services entrusted to Lakewood Funeral Home, Hughson, California Visitation to be held May 8, 2017 In the Riverside Chapel at 11:00 AM with Graveside service to follow @ Lakewood Memorial Park.
