

Dr. Niranjan Singh Sandhu was welcomed into the arms of the Almighty on Thursday, February 25, 2016, in Modesto, California. He was born on February 1, 1932 in Lyallpur, India and took his last breath in the arms of his nephew, Inderjit S. Ghuman, whom he had raised and loved as a son.
He retired from P.A.U, Ludhiana as a professor in Extension Education. He also had three Masters Degrees in Economics, Punjabi and Extension Education in addition to his PhD degree. He was a kind and honest individual who showed love and compassion for all. He was also a great poet and orator who published nine books in Punjabi Poetry.
He was the third of eight children, born to Sardar Phuman Singh Sandhu and Mata Bishen Kaur and was preceded in death by this lifelong love, his wife, SMT Kulwant Kaur. He is survived by his two sons, Tejinder Singh Sandhu and Dr. Davinder Singh Sandhu; his two daughters, Gurinderpreet K. Jhutty and Romy Mann; his sons-in-law, Amarjit S. Jhutty and Sarabjit S. Mann; and his daughters-in-law, Dianne and Narender K. Sandhu. He also has seven grandchildren, Jagdeep, Sandeep, Supreet, Jasleen, Rajdeep, Jasdeep and Shareen.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 12:00 pm in the Heritage Chapel at Lakewood Funeral Home. Please join the family in prayer following the funeral at Gurdwara Sahib Sikh Temple on 5743 East Hatch Road, Hughson.
