Nancy Lee Hicks

Nancy Lee Hicks, age 83, of Modesto, California passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022, surrounded by her family at home. Nancy was born in Patterson, California on July 22, 1939, to Paul and Elizabeth Cotter. She is survived by her husband, Bluford Leroy (Roy) Hicks, of 61 years. Together, they raised their daughter, Mary Hicks Alvarez (Linden, CA), and son, R. Allen Hicks (Modesto). Nancy loved spending time with her two grandchildren, Madalyn (13) and Damien Alvarez (9) of Linden, California. She is also survived by her sisters, Sue Atkins (Modesto) and Mary Vieira (Denair), nieces Robin (Kenny) & Shelby Sauls, and nephews Jeff Vieira & Christopher Sauls.

Mom loved to be outdoors in the yard. She had a green thumb and could bring anything to life! She seemed to know the names of a variety of plants and flowers. Mom spent her days reading her romance books and gardening magazines. She enjoyed old western movies and listening to Big Band music. My Mom will be greatly missed.

A visitation for Nancy will be held Monday, October 10, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Lakewood Funeral Home - Heritage Chapel, 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA 95326. Following the visitation will be a graveside service from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Lakewood Memorial Park - Peacevale Garden, 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA 95326.
